History
The Leones del Escogido is a professional baseball team of the Dominican Republic founded in 1921 and based in Santo Domingo.
They compete in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League, playing their home games at the Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal.
With the creation of the Dominican League in 1955, a new stage in organized, professional baseball in the Dominican Republic began, thus initiating what would be the first great rivalry between Dominican teams, with the Tigres del Licey as the main rival.
