Grupo SID reaffirms its commitment to the environment and sustainable development by celebrating a new edition of ReforestaSID, its emblematic reforestation day which, in association with Fondo Agua Santo Domingo FASD, has contributed significantly to the increase of forest cover in the Dominican Republic. This year the initiative brought together 130 employees of MercaSID, Induveca, and Induspalma to restore 5 hectares in El Cacique, Monte Plata, with the planting of 5,500 cocoa, cedar and lemon trees.

The project to restore the micro-watershed of the Savita River is a priority for Grupo SID, since this ecosystem plays a key role in replenishing the water supplied to the Ozama River, which is vital for the water supply of the city of Santo Domingo. The actions carried out not only seek to restore the environmental balance of the area, but also to guarantee the quality and quantity of water for future generations. ReforestaSID is more than an environmental activity; it is a commitment to the country and to the well-being of our communities.

With more than a decade of positive impact, ReforestaSID continues to be a platform for raising awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources and fostering a culture of sustainability among employees and the communities where Grupo SID is present.
