In a firm commitment to transforming Dominican education and bringing major global challenges into the classroom, Grupo SID, together with the Ministry of Education (MINERD), presented the country’s first digital platform dedicated to teaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The initiative, developed by Grupo SID under the EducaSID program, seeks to provide primary school teachers and students (ages 6 to 12) with interactive and accessible tools that promote dynamic and understandable learning of the SDGs. It is an innovative pedagogical proposal that combines technology, sustainability, and active methodologies, aligned with the demands of the 21st century.
“We believe that education transforms. But not just any education. We are committed to one that teaches thinking, questioning, caring, and proposing. An education that instills awareness, judgment, and purpose,” said Ligia Bonetti, Executive President of Grupo SID.
The platform will be accessible through the official MINERD portal, which will feature a banner with a direct link to EducaSID.com.do. From there, teachers will be able to access teaching resources, practical guides, and audiovisual content designed to enrich their work and transform the teaching-learning process.
Luis Miguel de Camps, Minister of Education, added, “EducaSID not only provides quality audiovisual resources, games, and educational content; it also strengthens our capacity to educate critical, creative, responsible, and community-minded citizens.”
In addition to facilitating access to knowledge from anywhere in the country, EducaSID breaks down geographical barriers and promotes more equitable, inclusive, and impactful education, democratizing learning about major global challenges.
This effort is part of the goal of training more than 20,000 students in the Sustainable Development Goals by 2028, directly contributing to Target 7 of SDG 4, which seeks to guarantee quality education with a focus on sustainability, leaving no one behind.
