Grupo SID and MICM Exchange Perspectives on a Competitive, Innovative, and Sustainable Industry

Minister of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs Eduardo Sanz Lovatón visited the company and was welcomed by its Executive President, Ligia Bonetti, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Grupo SID welcomed the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, along with a delegation from the government institution, for a meeting aimed at strengthening dialogue between the public and private sectors and identifying opportunities for collaboration that contribute to the country’s industrial and economic development.

Ligia Bonetti, Executive President of Grupo SID, accompanied by executives from the conglomerate, presented the minister and his delegation with a comprehensive overview of the company, its evolution over nearly nine decades, its contribution to the development of the Dominican economy, and the main initiatives driving its growth, innovation, sustainability, and expansion into new markets.

During the meeting, participants exchanged perspectives on the main challenges and opportunities facing the country’s productive sector. Discussions addressed competitiveness, investment attraction, the strengthening of value chains, innovation, and the need to continue promoting an environment that supports the sustainable growth of Dominican industry.

These opportunities for dialogue strengthen trust, promote collaboration, and enable us to continue advancing initiatives that contribute to a more competitive, innovative, and sustainable industry, while generating value for Dominican society,” said Ligia Bonetti, Executive President of Grupo SID.

The meeting reaffirmed Grupo SID’s commitment to continuing to promote initiatives that strengthen collaboration with the country’s institutions, based on the conviction that coordination between the public and private sectors is essential to promoting competitiveness, strengthening the national productive sector, and contributing to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic.

Also participating on behalf of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs (MICM) were Vice Minister Gianna Franjul and Advisor Johanna Bonnelly.

Through meetings such as this one, Grupo SID continues to consolidate its role as a strategic partner in the development of the Dominican Republic, fostering partnerships that strengthen competitiveness, drive innovation, and generate value for the country.
