As part of its commitment to sustainability and the comprehensive development of Dominican society, Grupo SID formally delivered the completely renovated San Miguel Arcángel Church, located in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo.
The comprehensive restoration process led by Grupo SID included structural improvements, conservation of original architectural elements, and adaptations to ensure the functionality and accessibility of the temple, while respecting its historical and spiritual value.
At the presentation ceremony, a thanksgiving mass was celebrated by the Friar, attended by Grupo SID executives, national and community authorities, representatives of the clergy, and special guests.
“This church, now more alive than ever, is a testament to the power of faith, the courage of the righteous, and the love that endures. Its restoration is an act of commitment to history, to the community, and to the values that unite us as a country,” said Ligia Bonetti, highlighting the importance of preserving spaces that are part of the collective soul of the nation.
During the ceremony, the book San Miguel Arcángel: ¿Quién como Dios? (Saint Michael the Archangel: Who is like God?) was also presented. It was executive produced by Ligia Bonetti, Executive President of Grupo SID, and authored by María Teresa Ruiz de Catrain. The work documents the history of the temple and its spiritual significance, and seeks to keep alive the collective memory of this emblematic space.
With this contribution, Grupo SID reaffirms its commitment to preserving cultural heritage, strengthening Dominican identity, and promoting initiatives that have a positive impact on society.
