With its firm commitment to culture, Grupo SID supported the emotional launching of the book Padre Nuestro, the most recent work of the renowned lawyer, journalist and writer José Báez Guerrero. The event took place in the Auditorium of the Cardenal Beras Rojas Library of the Catholic University of Santo Domingo, and included a discussion, signing of copies and a toast that brought together readers, friends and relatives of the author.
Our Father is a profound reflection on faith, doubt and the need for transcendence, structured from an intimate analysis of the famous Christian prayer. Through this work, Baez Guerrero shares personal experiences, existential questions and his process of inner reconciliation, offering a space for contemplation for believers and for those in search of meaning.
During the activity, Ligia Bonetti, executive president of Grupo SID, said:
“We believe in the power of literature and reflection to inspire and guide us towards a more conscious and fulfilled life. Works like Padre Nuestro invite us to look inward, to reconnect with our values and strengthen our spirituality.”
With more than thirty published titles in essays, history, poetry, short stories and novels, José Báez Guerrero has established himself as one of the most influential voices of opinion journalism in the Dominican Republic. Among his many awards are the National History Award and the FIL-León Jimenes Award.
With Padre Nuestro, the author delivers a text that transcends the religious to become an introspective and humanistic guide, a call to reflection on faith, self-criticism and the essential questions of existence.
