New York, United States, March 18 – Ligia Bonetti, CEO of Grupo SID, participated as a guest speaker in New York at the Women Forum organized by the National Supermarket Association (NSA). The event brought together business leaders and representatives from the retail sector to discuss leadership and growth.
During her presentation, Bonetti shared a vision of leadership focused on talent, humility, and purpose—key capabilities for making an impact in increasingly complex environments. In this context, she emphasized: “I believe in talent and in people’s ability to generate value and pave the way. The women who came before us paved the way for us to be where we are today. The opportunities are there: what matters is how each person chooses to differentiate themselves and move forward if they truly want to succeed.”
At the forum, Bonetti received special recognition as a transformational leader, solidifying her position as one of the most influential Latin American voices on the international stage.
She also emphasized the importance of leadership that combines character and humanity, where decision-making is based on discipline and resilience, as well as the ability to listen, build trust, and foster collaborative environments. “Balance is something the world needs today more than ever. Not louder voices or bigger egos, but leaders who understand that firmness and humility can coexist,” she stated.
Bonetti further stressed that leadership is a constantly evolving process that requires integrating qualities such as empathy, determination, and vision to respond effectively to current challenges, increasingly marked by transformation and interconnectedness. “Let us always have the courage to raise our voices, the grace to use them wisely, the power to hold them firmly, and the purpose to truly make a difference,” she added.
During the event, Mariel López, Corporate Export Manager, was recognized as an outstanding leader in the industry, in recognition of her career and her contributions to strengthening the business and the organization’s international reach.
Other executives from Grupo SID also participated: Lil Esteva, executive vice president of Induveca; Roberto Bonetti, vice president of Investments and Exports; Leyla Alfonso, director of Corporate Communication; Carlos Reid, corporate manager of International Business; and Madeline Cruz, manager of meat business.
